Model of Topology

Bus Topology, Client/Server Network, LAN Network

We use bus topology in the post office because it is inexpensive and easier for us to install. If we adding or removing a node such as a personal computer from the backbone, it does not affect the rest of the network in the post office. And if there is a failure of one node in the network, it also does not affect the rest of the network.

We use Client/Server Network in the post office because the network can works in any size and does not tend to slow down if there are more nodes are uses in the post office. the security of the Client/Server Network also more advance than Peer to Peer Network because we can use our personal profile by using a password to access so the others cannot access our computer because of the passwords that we used in the computers.

We use LAN Network in the post office. This is because LAN Network is a network that connects computers and devices in a limited geographical area. So, LAN Network is suitable use in the post office building. The network that we use are owned and operated by an organization in the post office building. The communications devices that we use is switch or hub to connect multiple devices on a single wireless network such as Wi-Fi range in the post office. This is because we can share the information, data, hardware and software for lower cost and it also can saves our money on hardware expenses.

What is Network Topology?

  • A network topology refers to the layout of the computers and devices in a communications network.

Client/Server Network

What is Client/Server Network?
  • Client/Server Network can be describe as one or more computers act as a server, and the other computer on the network (clients) request services from the server.
  • Clients and Server
  1. Server  :  Control access to the hardware, software, and other   resources on the network and provides   centralized storage area from programs, data, and   information.
  2. Clients  :  Other computers and mobile devices on the network that rely on the server for its resources

Network Model

Hye! We meet again. Today, I would like to introduce to you about our model regarding to Topic 3: Internet Technology. In this task, we need to form a group of 4 person. So, my group members are Azlina, Atiqah, Nik and I. We need to set up a model according to: Network Architecture, Network Topology and Network Classification. To build this model, we only used recycle materials to save our money. The picture shown is a model that already completed.

Bus Topology

Here I put an information about our model:
  • Network Architecture : Client/Server Network (Click here for more information)
  • Network Topology : Bus Topology (Click here for more information)
  • Network Classification : LAN (Local Area Network)
